Over the past month, a question has come up in conversations across my work: How are we showing up as leaders and professionals online?
From leadership visibility to the role of storytelling in an AI-driven world, and the continued growth of our Local Link Networking community, these themes reflect what is happening across LinkedIn and the professional landscape.
Before getting into this month’s newsletter, Brisbane-based community, there are two opportunities coming up:
1) In Person LinkedIn Workshop – Strategic Visibility: Turning LinkedIn into Real-World Opportunity A three-hour interactive workshop designed for professionals who want to elevate their visibility, build credibility and create more real-world opportunities. Early bird tickets are still available here.
2) Local Link Networking – 25 March at Hotel X An evening of learning, development and connection with professionals and business owners who value community. Tickets are now available.
Here are the highlights from February:
“I want to leave you all with this, as leaders… how self-aware are we?”
That’s how Peter A. James, PhD closed our session with our Local Link Networking Connect members.
Peter joined us all the way from Chicago in the USA and generously shared his thinking as a global business and leadership strategist and high-performance coach.
Our community had the opportunity to access that global perspective, ask direct questions and test our own thinking in real time. Read the full post here.
LinkedIn as a Legal Brand Asset
Had an early Friday morning presenting to the NALP on how LinkedIn is a powerful legal brand asset that strengthens visibility, reputation and reach.
NALP is an association of over 3500 legal career professionals who advise law students, lawyers, law offices, and law schools in North America and beyond.
The workshop was built from the Bulletin article I recently wrote, expanding the ideas into practical steps firms, law schools and legal professionals can apply immediately.
Although NALP is based in the USA, the principles resonate across the legal profession globally. Reputation, presence and connection on LinkedIn matter no matter where you practise, teach or study. You can read more about the session here.
Your Story Advantage in an AI World
“Storytelling matters… but everything I write feels the same as everyone else.”
Storytelling has become a well talked-about topic on LinkedIn but it’s also where a lot of content now feels like a sea of sameness. And yet, right now, it matters more than ever.
In an AI-powered world, your story becomes your advantage. Your story advantage is the lived experience, observations, and insights that only you have – the things AI can support but can’t replicate. It’s how you build trust, signal capability, and position your expertise in a way that feels human, grounded, and distinct .And it’s never been more important.
The Next Chapter for Local Link Networking
2026 is already shaping up to be our brightest year yet!
Our next Local Link event will be held at Hotel X, 458 Brunswick Street Brisbane, on Wednesday 25 March 2026 from 5:30 pm.
With a new venue partner and outstanding speakers joining us, it promises to be an evening full of practical insight, genuine conversation and strong connection.
We would love to have you in the room, and you can get your tickets here.
Across leadership, legal branding, storytelling and community, one theme stands out, now more than ever visibility is strategic.
