LinkedIn in 2026: What’s New, What’s Working, and What to Ignore
Last week, I joined Darren Saul on the Saul Searching podcast to talk about all the things LinkedIn in 2026 – what’s changing, what’s working, where to focus, and what to ignore.
You can listen to the full conversation here:
Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:
- LinkedIn has shifted from a profile-first platform to a presence-driven one
- Visibility is now driven by relevance, not just your network
- Niche content is outperforming broad, generalised posts
- With more content, clarity and real experience matter more than ever.
In the work I am doing, the professionals seeing results are those who are clear in their message, relevant to their audience, and consistent in how they contribute.
The Sales Team Is on LinkedIn. So Why Aren’t the Conversations Happening?
“We’ve sent hundreds of connection requests. We’re messaging prospects every week. But it’s not really turning into conversations.”
This wasn’t the first time I had heard this, or a variation of it.
The team is active on LinkedIn. They’re connecting, sending messages, and trying to generate opportunities.
Yet the results are mixed. And it’s rarely because the team isn’t trying hard enough or want to do the right thing. More often, it’s because LinkedIn works differently from traditional outbound sales channels.
Cold outreach has its place in sales. But LinkedIn isn’t built purely for outbound messaging. It’s built around professional reputation, visibility, and relationships. You can read more here.
In addition, I recently was a guest on the Sales Trajectory Podcast, hosted by Jason Howes from Arrow Executive Sales Pty Ltd.
We discussed LinkedIn, professional visibility, and how sales teams can build credibility before outreach. There’s also a great catalogue of past episodes covering a wide range of sales topics.

The LinkedIn Advantage: Your Professional Story.
We’re now at an interesting intersection here on LinkedIn.
AI tools now make it possible to generate ideas, draft posts, and publish content faster than ever. As a result, the volume of content on the platform continues to grow rapidly. But at the same time, LinkedIn’s algorithm is increasingly focused on surfacing content that feels relevant, thoughtful, and genuinely engaging to its audiences.
In other words, it’s no longer simply about posting more. It’s about posting with clarity, perspective, and intention. Which is exactly why your professional story is becoming one of the strongest strategic advantages you have.
You can read more about that here .
